Docupodium #23

Dear documentary lovers,

Welcome to our best film-watching season! With another great edition in store, we cannot wait to get together and enjoy two very warming films in the snowy setting we are living in right now.
This time we’ll be watching ‘Zeebenen’ by Eza van Doortmont & Pippi Kragtwijk and ‘Deze zomer is van mij’ by Marinka de Jongh.

Directors Eza Doortmont and Pippi Kragtwijk were intrigued when they heard about the isolated maritime academy set on the second biggest island of the Netherlands: Terschelling. With a shared love for the sea, the students quickly find themselves a close new family in a world of uniforms, campus life and the maritime.
In ‘Deze zomer is van mij’ by Marinka de Jongh a group of youngsters with a mild intellectual disability is going on a holiday without their parents for the first time. During this supervised trip, they experience a freedom as never before and even get caught by the love bug.

After the films a short Q&A will take place with the directors of the films and our enchanting moderator Laura Kemp!

Stay for some drinks, inspiration and connections after our program. See you the 23rd!
