The Holocaust and Genocidestudies alumni board would like to invite you to the screening of A Haunting History on Monday 8 May 2017 at 19:30 at Cinetol, Amsterdam (Tolstraat 182).

This film, part of the Movies that Matter program 2016, depicts the story of the ambitious lawyer Anoul returning to his homeland South Sudan after studying in England. Anoul, haunted by his violent past, is committed to serve his country and hold accountable those who are responsible. But his quest, led by the rules of law, hits a wall when he is confronted with his countrymen’s reluctance to reconcile with history.

After the film, there will be time for a Q&A session with Ilse van Velzen, one of the directors of the documentary. Following the Q&A, there will be time for drinks and more discussion in the bar.

The entrance is free of charge, to be sure there is enough space we kindly ask you to reserve a seat by sending an email to: alumnikring.hgs@gmail.com.
Anyone interested in this topic and up for discussion is welcome to join!

Kind regards,
